Who can practice Tai Chi?

Tai Chi Quan strengthens bones and muscles, regulates and balances the circulation, respiration and digestive systems of the body and helps prevent the onset of disease.

Lively Tiger Tai Chi School offers classes promoting the health benefits (helping relaxation and reducing stress), exploring the Martial Art elements and self-defence applications.

Tai Chi is suitable for people of all ages and levels of physical fitness. The movements can be performed slowly and gently for health and relaxation, or faster and more powerfully for fitness and self-defence applications.

The practice of Tai Chi does not require a big space or any special equipment for personal training; it can be practiced anytime of day or night, indoors or out. It is suitable for all people, regardless of age, sex, or level of fitness.

To make the most of your Tai Chi lesson set some additional time aside during the week to practice by yourself. Ideally once a day, starting with 10 to 15 minutes just to get into the habit; practice some of the exercises, some silk reeling and standing in Tai Chi stance. If you can only practice by yourself once or twice a week this will be fine, but the more you practice the more you will feel the benefit!

Keep a record/diary of how you feel, possibly take some measurements such as weight, blood pressure etc and see if there are any changes by the end of the term.
